While I was happy to see the majority of voters step up and denounce all the hatred and despicable behavior exhibited by people and political leaders on the right, I am now saying that this constant barrage on social media and on national and local news agencies needs to stop.
I can not speak for everyone and it is your choice as to what you wish to pay attention to, but I am done. Enough is enough! Let me be clear. As an American citizen, I am more concerned about my health and well-being, my standard of living, my level of income, my ability to survive, the cost of groceries and medication, the costs of housing, taxes, and other expenses that keep me and mine able to live my life with a moderate level of happiness.
This is the reality of the world we live in…Politicians on either side of the spectrum don’t give a rat’s ass about you or me. Our political system enriches them for doing nothing to improve our lives or enrich us, the people who continue to enable the fraud. What positive changes have occurred, through political means, over your lifetime that has personally improved the lives of your family or yourself? Just name one????? Your ability to work and provide for yourself? Your health? Your ability to put food on the table? Your ability to educate yourself? Your ability to work and maintain a respectable standard of living? If, you can tell me I would love to hear it.
It is a broken system that provides no benefit. They use hate and mistrust to keep us focused on the other guy rather than look at what little they do to improve our lives. They use their power and influence to manipulate the stock market to financially improve their own personal interests. All while our livelihoods are merely maintained, if not diminished.
So, I am going to stop contributing to their non-performance. I will no longer allow any political news in my orbit of existence. The political rhetoric in this country is irrelevant and meaningless to my livelihood. So, I am choosing to permanently turn it off. It is depressing and nonproductive. I no longer care to listen to talking heads on national networks or pundits on social media discussing anything that doesn’t improve my life. It is a total waste of my time and energy. I am turning off and tuning out.
The worst thing that ever happened was 24 hour “news” networks that moved from real news to political theatre and normal discourse on social media became political fingerpointing rather than commenting on personal experiences.
